Today, I decided I need to clean out all of the clothes from my closet that don’t fit me anymore…well, most of them anyway! I still need to keep a few items because I only have one pair of pants in my current size, and only seven or eight tops. But each pay day, I’m going to get a couple new items and immediately donate a couple of the old items that they are replacing. I decided that I don’t want to see those clothes anymore! I’m DONE with them! Good-bye, Clothes!!
At the end of my cleaning session for today, in the bottom and back of one of my dresser drawers, I came across a pair of pants I wore at my biggest size. I decided to try them on just to see how they fit me today:
My daughter was with me, and we both couldn’t really get our heads around the fact that I can now fit BOTH of my legs into ONE of my old pants legs! She ran to her room and got a picture of me before I lost any weight and we both looked at it for a while. She said, “Mom, it doesn’t seem like you lost THAT much.” I agreed with her. I don’t feel like I HAVE lost that much weight, but those jeans can’t lie! Today, I realized just how far I really have come. Before-and-After pictures just don’t really do it any justice. It was the trying on of the pants that did the trick!
I really have no clothes anymore, but that’s ok. I feel like I’m really starting over now, and I’m happy about that. It’ll take me a LONG time to get a new wardrobe (unless someone nominates me for What Not to Wear…HINT, HINT!!), but it is OH-SO-FUN to get a new shirt now! Each clothes item feels like a trophy…like I won the game. It’s an AMAZING feeling, ya’all!
Oh, I’m getting rid of all of the clothes…EXCEPT. THESE. PANTS. I’m saving these babies forever! It’ll be my little reminder to myself to never get back to that size…to realize how far I’ve come…to show others that with enough hard work and dedication, ANYTHING you want to achieve is possible!
